Biography:

Alexa is a Staff Biologist in Coral Reef Restoration at the Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Reef Research & Restoration (IC2R3) on Summerland Key. Her passion for marine invertebrates began as an undergraduate research assistant in the Li Lab at the University of Colorado Boulder. She then pursued her M.Sc in Marine Science at Hawaiʻi Pacific University, where her research examined how structural complexity influences coral-associated cryptofauna. At Mote Marine Laboratory, Alexa is now part of a dedicated team working to restore Floridaʻs coral reefs through innovative propagation, monitoring, and outplanting strategies.
