Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium is proud to welcome the following new members to its Board of Trustees: Kirk Boylston, Ivory Matthews, Jourdan Reinhart, Dr. Peter Rogers and David Sessions.
These well-respected industry and community leaders bring a broad set of skills and expertise that will collectively strengthen Mote’s mission to advance marine science, education and ocean conservation in our home communities and around the globe.

Kirk Boylston – a Senior Development Manager with Casto Southeast Realty Services, Mr. Boylston is a Sarasota native and brings decades of progressive experience in commercial real estate and community development.
Ivory Matthews – a Vice President of Community & Governmental Affairs with Neal Communities of Southwest Florida, Mrs. Matthews is a seasoned community planning, design and outreach executive with extensive board volunteer experience.
Jourdan Reinhart – a Sarasota native and co-founder of family-run The Reinhart Foundation. Mrs. Reinhart also serves as co-CEO of Nickolas Asset Management and is involved with numerous other charitable non-profit organizations and holds other board seats.
Dr. Peter Rogers – a highly accomplished business leader, Dr. Rogers is a former CEO or President of eleven companies and divisions, including iconic brands like the Curtiss Candy Company, Nabisco and Brach/Van Houten.
David Sessions – a former President & CEO and current Chairman with Willis A. Smith Construction. Mr. Sessions has cultivated more than 39 years of multi-disciplined experience in educational, retail, healthcare, religious, resort and performing arts construction.
Mote’s Board of Trustees provides critical support for the Lab to achieve its mission of advancing marine and environmental sciences. This support is central to the organization’s ability to achieve the goals and objectives of Mote’s 10-year Beyond 2020 strategic plan, which includes the recent completion of the new, state-of-the-art Mote Science Education Aquarium (SEA) at Nathan Benderson Park.
