08/25/2025 “Bellhaven” was found washing ashore in Venice and reported to FWC. MML Stranding Investigation Program volunteer and staff responded and recovered for rehab. The turtle appears in good body condition with no obvious injuries. Behaviorally, the turtle appeared neurologic with some tremors observed.
09/18/2025 “Bellhaven’s” neurologic signs have improved and is eating well. The turtle is currently receiving antibiotic injections as well as calcium supplementation to improve bloodwork.
09/30/2025 “Bellhaven” continued too show great improve and was medically cleared for release. She was released in Sarasota County, Casey Key.
